It would be easier, if I could figure out where I am going before I launch into a new work.  Sometimes I really do have a fairly clear idea, and can layout the design, pattern and assemble. More and more however, things just emerge as I work. This means a lot of cutting away, covering up, re-working into, etc.; this method takes more time. Actually though, if I forget about deadlines I like this way of working. Making art is an act of inquiry and exploration. So, I am ‘inquiring.’ Life is good this way. Although I hope each piece works out, the goodness is  irrespective of the final product.
